Thanks Sar! Tagged again!

After being tagged for the 2nd time - I've decided I really need to find more friends!! LOL. So if you happen to read this and you want to be a rockin' girl blogger...well you're tagged then!! hehe.

DH had his 30th birthday on Saturday and really liked the album I did for him (aka special project). So will have to photograph them now and post them up. He showed the family after our dinner - his mum really liked looking back at where they used to live.

DH is through to the 2nd interview process at the school he applied for...so fingers crossed for Thursday. I'm so proud of him and he deserves to teach at a good school!

I got a call today for an interview too...so fingers crossed for me too ;-) Have to survive a pretty big week at school first though!!

I bought a Nintendo DS yesterday - so cool!! hehe. Love the brain training! I'm down to age 28 - the aim is to get to 20 years old.

Sunday

Well Friday Night DH and I went to the movies to see Die Hard 4.0 - it was really good (better than I thought).
Yesterday we did some shopping for upcoming birthdays (second time at the same shops in 2 days).
Also finished off a "little" project I have been working on for a special persons upcoming birthday, will post photos after next weekend.
Made a card for Dad too for his birthday on Tuesday (pretty busy with these birthdays!!).
Back to school tomorrow - half way through the term! :D

Tuesday - frustrated and disappointed

Today my principal came back to me saying he checked with the region who have said "absolutely not".. he's not going to bother checking with the union though?!?!? grrr.
So am applying to other positions without guilt.
Best news of all, for all my hard work and persistence the other teacher now will have the opportunity to have ongoing (I'm glad for her, but shame about me!!!!!). Ha....great work from me....

Monday

Well I made it through a day of teaching - mind you we combined both classes so my voice could last.
Spoke to my principal...things look a little more "up" than they did before...although nothing is set in concrete....and if i do end up staying i will be changing year levels (love my Prepies, but the next offer isn't too bad :D)
But I still have one application in, waiting to hear on...another that I'll put in tonight or tomorrow and possibly 1 more (a total of 13 positions). So who knows really!!

7 facts about me....here we go...
1. My weirdest hobby/ collection when I was growing up, was collecting pencil sharpeners - I have over 300 of them, and still get given them as presents from friends and family!
2. I am an only child, which has/ had it's benefits of course. I always wished for a brother or sister, but I really had a happy childhood and I wouldn't want to have had it any differently really.
3. I have travelled overseas 5 times now. Twice to New Zealand (age 12 and 26), once to America (aged 13), once to Britain and Europe (aged 24) and once to Japan last year. Certainly have the travel bug, can't wait to go somewhere else.
4. My middle name is Valmai - it's Welsh, but Mum knew someone with the name and liked it. It also contains letters from both my grandmothers names.
5. My first name was going to be Belinda. But with a Linda and Melinda already in the family Mum and Dad decided it might be a tad confusing.
6. All the girls names in my family end in 'a'. It has happened purely by accident, until this generation - and I am planning on keeping it going with my own girls should I have any.
7. I have a horrible fear of deep water and drowing, so for that reason I avoid swimming at all costs. I used to love the water as a kid, and I still find it relxing in baths/ spas, etc., but my fear stops me from going back into the water.

To other news....
DH PhD has been accepted he will be graduating later in the year and I will be married to a "Dr".
I appear to have laryngitis again (is it the 4th or 5th time this year? I've lost count). Will have to try and make a Dr's appointment, which is near impossible on the weekend!
I have sent in my first application, working on the second, and deciding whether to do a 3rd (further away from home though).
That's about all for now, hopefully will get some scrapping done tonight either at my cousin's house or at home (depending on how my voice is).

Mid-week update

Nothing much new here...I have decided to apply for the two schools that I found had ongoing positions at. Seems like the best thing to do at this stage, although I will be awfully sad if I do have to leave my school!
Otherwise I am counting down to DH's birthday. I bought him a bike on the weekend. We'll be planning a dinner out with family and friends on the actual day.

Sick (again)

Looks like I'm sick again. Last night on the way home, my throat became extremely sore. I'm hoping that it's not pharangitis/ laryngitis again (already had that 4 times this year!). Hope it's just a head cold that will pass quickly. But of course I haven't been able to sleep properly, so I've been awake since 5:30am this morning.
Before heading home after work last night, I went to spotlight for their $4million clearance! Wow - got lots of 50c papers, $1 papers (they've got some beautiful new papers too, had to get a couple of them!), some thinkable-inkables for $5, and a couple of $2 stamps. I had said that I wasn't going to spend any more money on scrapbooking for awhile, but how could I pass up bargains like that?!?
Thursday afternoon I had my check-up with my surgeon. He said it all looked like it was healing well, had a few residue stitches left. I now have a syringe to help clean out my "holes".
Think I might read for a little while and see if I can sleep a bit later!

My latest...

Here are my monograms for a swap over at SM. We have to make 2 letters each (13 of each letter). It was a huge swap, but I think they turned out ok (according ot my standards!!).



These are two cards that I made as an example for an SM swap. We have to make card kits for 4 other group members and include a sketch or a photo. I've included a sketch, but thought I'd post an example on the forum.


Here is my Elmo Lo that i started on Friday night and finished off tonight (felt heart, inking, journalling). Love my TMX Elmo, he was my 29th birthday present from DH.

Not much else is new. Had another long, tiring day at work (although that's nothing new). Tomorrow am going to have a check up with the oral surgeon, to make sure that everything's ok.
